About this Prize
Problem: Uber and other ride-share app drivers around the world often pay more than 25% of the revenue they generate in app fees, which benefit a few wealthy individuals in faraway countries.
This prize will be awarded to whoever writes the best proposal for how to address this problem and accomplish these objectives.
This is a crowdfunded prize that anyone can donate to, and then donors can vote on who should win or vote to be refunded if they don’t think there are any good answers. There can be multiple winners.
This prize is originally an idea by Sianoi Kimari, who lives in Nairobi and sees that across Africa, there are massive anti-government protests driven by widespread discontent over economic issues, corruption, and demands for political accountability. Now is a time to harness this collective energy and spirit of the times. Here are some ideas that she has already drafted for reference: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ommMaUVwRFVi0Ml9cQbGuHGFYo20f5plfTkH3AY0-Xs/edit?usp=sharing.
